How it works

Three steps, one USB stick

Copy the tool to a USB stick or network share and run it from there. Each PC's results stay with the tool, ready for the reinstall.

Scan the old PC

Run it on the Windows 10 PC before you wipe it. It inventories the hardware, checks Windows 11 24H2 readiness, exports every driver and downloads the PC maker's Windows 11 drivers for the model.

Wipe and clean-install. The report lists critical items first: if Setup won't see the disk, it tells you to switch the BIOS to AHCI or which folder to load the storage driver from.

Run it on the new install. It finds the PC by service tag, installs the PC maker's Windows 11 drivers, then fills any gaps with the PC's own exported drivers, skipping any that Memory Integrity would block.

Nothing is installed on the PCs you work on. Each PC gets its own folder next to the tool, named after its model and service tag, and Machines\index.html lists every PC scanned with that stick.

Requirements

What you need

Windows: Windows 10 version 1607 or later, or Windows 11, on the PC being scanned. Drivers are matched for Windows 11 24H2 x64.
PowerShell: Windows PowerShell 5.1, built into Windows. There is nothing else to install.
Rights: Administrator. The launchers ask for it.
Internet: Only for driver pack downloads from Dell, HP or Lenovo, typically 1–3 GB per model. Without internet, scan offline and add the drivers later from any connected PC.
Storage: A USB stick or share with about 2–5 GB free per PC. exFAT or NTFS is recommended; keep the tool near the drive root.
Hardware: Any PC for the scan, driver snapshot and reinstall of exported drivers. Automatic driver pack downloads for Dell, HP and Lenovo.

FAQ

Questions

Does the scan change anything on the PC?

No settings are changed and nothing is installed. The scan reads system information, exports drivers with pnputil and saves everything to the tool's folder. Dell packages are extracted, never installed. Drivers are only installed in step 2, on the new Windows 11 installation.

Which PC brands does it support?

Dell, HP and Lenovo PCs get their Windows 11 driver pack downloaded automatically, matched to the exact model. Every other brand gets everything else: the scan, the driver snapshot, the first-boot prediction and reinstalling the exported drivers.

What if the PC doesn't meet the Windows 11 requirements?

The report lists each requirement and its result. If the CPU lacks SSE4.2 or POPCNT, Windows 11 24H2 cannot run on it at all. Other failures, such as an older CPU or TPM 1.2, mean the PC is not officially supported.

The PC has no internet connection. Can I still use it?

Yes. Run the scan anyway. Later, run 3-Match-Drivers-Again.cmd from the same stick on any PC with internet to download that PC's Dell drivers. The catalogs are then cached for other offline PCs.

Is any data sent anywhere?

No. The only connections the tool makes are downloads from Dell, HP and Lenovo's official download servers, and everything it collects stays in the tool's folder. The Machines folder holds serial numbers and product keys, so treat the stick like any other customer data.

Which Windows 11 version does it target?

Windows 11 24H2 x64. Windows 11 25H2 ships the same drivers, so the plan applies to it as well.
